Reclamation Geotechnics
Two senior reclamation engineers. 40 years of combined experience — all of it on site, embedded with contractor teams. Specialist day-rate support for the dredging and reclamation industry.
The problem
Every dredging or reclamation project is a bet on the ground. New jurisdictions bring unfamiliar soils, different seismic regimes, remote coastlines and no local expertise. A single geotechnical misjudgment means delays, rework and budget overruns.
Multidisciplinary consultancies send a rotation of juniors and charge senior rates. We send the two people who have done the work — full time, on site, for the life of the project.
Who we are
Two senior geotechnical engineers with 40 years of combined specialist experience — all of it on site, embedded with contractor teams in the dredging and reclamation industry.
We have worked full time for over a decade each as reclamation engineers on major international projects: soft soils, seismic design, carbonate and pumice sands, rock works, settlement and compaction, laboratory establishment, CPT and seismic CPT. We work the way you do — as part of the team that has to deliver.
Where we're deep
Design and management of settlement on soft marine clays — the defining problem of reclamation.
Liquefaction assessment and seismic design of reclaimed land and port infrastructure.
Unusual soils that break standard correlations: crushable, compressible, deceptively strong.
Rock placement, dredgeability assessment — and quarry assessment, rock source approval and rock quality verification.
Vibrocompaction, vibroflotation, dynamic compaction, HEIC, stone columns, PVD — trials, design, QA/QC.
Establishment and management of on-site laboratories for remote and marine projects.
Rowe cell, triaxial, cyclic and crushability testing for design and verification.

How we work
Direct conversation about your project's geotechnical challenges. No forms, no gatekeeping.
Planned mobilisation — terms, visas and logistics scoped up front. We travel to your project, anywhere in the world.
Senior geotechnical engineering on a contractor day-rate basis, embedded with your team.
Capacity & continuity
Every engagement is delivered by the two people you spoke to. No junior rotation, no bench of graduates billed at senior rates, no hand-offs to someone who wasn't in the room.
We scope capacity honestly. If a project needs more senior time than we can commit, we say so before you commit — and we don't take on work we can't cover. That is how continuity works when you are deliberately small.
Questions
An independent practice of two senior reclamation engineers with 40 years of combined specialist experience in dredging and reclamation — all of it on site. Anonymised CVs and a confidential reference list with client contacts are available on request. We expect you to verify before committing.
Yes — anonymised CVs and a confidential project reference list with client contacts, on request. Under NDA if you prefer.
Day rates depend on location, duration and scope. You get a clear rate in the first conversation — no retained consultancy, no overhead.
We scope capacity honestly. If we cannot commit the senior time your project needs, we tell you up front rather than over-promising.
Anywhere. We travel to projects worldwide, including remote and new jurisdictions, with mobilisation planned around your project's timeline.
Contractor day rates, direct engagement with your team, mobilisation planned around your project's timeline. No retained consultancy, no overhead.
Mobilisation is planned per project. It depends on contract terms, visas and logistics — and on our existing commitments. We scope it honestly before any engagement.
Large-scale marine land reclamation and port works across multiple continents. Specific references are available in confidence, on request.
